Accreditation procedures

Accreditation is granted to applicants who meet the conditions regarding qualifications, professional experience and training, according to the site classification. (Article 5 of the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 9 June 2006)

Applicants who, on the basis of a duly reasoned application, have obtained recognition of equivalence of their basic training with respect to the required diplomas corresponding to the accreditation level applied for by the Minister of Labour, upon the opinion of the advisory committee, may be accredited as health and safety coordinators, provided they have successfully completed the training for health and safety coordinators related to the accreditation sought. 

 

The Ministerial Decree of 23 July 2018 sets out the training programmes for health and safety coordinators, as provided for in Article 2 of the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 9 June 2006.

The application for accreditation must include the applicant’s surname, forenames, date of birth, occupation and address. (Article 4 of the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 9 June 2006)

The application must be accompanied by the following information and supporting documents:

  • the level of accreditation sought (level A, B, or C);
  • a copy of the diploma corresponding to the coordination activity for which accreditation is applied for;
  • if applicable, a copy of the decision giving rise to entry in the register of formal higher education qualifications (for more information:

  • a copy of the certificate confirming that the examination of training for health and safety coordinators has been passed, corresponding to the level of accreditation being applied for;
  • supporting documents for professional experience corresponding to the level of accreditation being applied for:

a. a summary list of the work site(s) monitored, including the following information for each work site:

  • the project name and the address;
  • the volume of work in man-days;
  • the year of construction and duration;
  • the nature of the building or civil engineering works carried out, as defined in Annex I to the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 27 June 2008;
  • the specific risks defined in Annex II to the same Grand-Ducal Regulation.

b. The supporting documents for professional experience must be accompanied by an affidavit.

Note

To check beforehand whether an applicant meets the diploma and professional experience requirements, he or she may submit an application to the advisory committee before registering for the corresponding training.
