An employee may ask his employer to convert his fixed-term employment contract into an employment contract of indeterminate duration, maintaining all other associated rights and obligations, provided that:
- he has been working for the same employer for at least six months,
- and that his probationary period had expired by the date of his request.
- The employee’s request must be submitted to his employer a maximum of once over a period of twelve consecutive months.
- The employer is required, within one month of the employee’s request, to:
- either amend the contract by mutual agreement,
- or to state precisely and in writing the reasons for the refusal to grant the employee’s request to convert his fixed-term employment contract into an employment contract of indeterminate duration.
