Yes.
Even without a renewal clause, a seasonal contract may be renewed from one season to another. In fact, it is possible to conclude a seasonal contract with the same employee for an unlimited number of seasons.
A contract thus concluded for the fixed duration of a season still constitutes a fixed-term contract even if it is renewed for the following seasons.
Nota Bene
By contrast, if the parties have included in a seasonal contract a renewal clause for the following season, the situation is different.
In fact, if there is a renewal clause and recurrence of contractual relations for more than two seasons between an employer and the same employee, all seasonal contracts endow the employment relationship with the status of a relationship of indeterminate aggregate duration, subject as such to the rules which, so far as concerns the breach thereof, govern a contract of indeterminate duration.
Consequently, in the event of renewal of the seasonal contract for more than two seasons, if, despite the renewal clause, the employer does not wish to employ the same employee for the following season, he must apply the rules applicable to dismissals.
