Yes.
If an employee falls ill during his annual recreational leave, the days of sickness recognised as such by a medical certificate are not regarded as days of leave.
The remaining leave must therefore be recalculated by common agreement between the employer and the employee.
Nota Bene
If the employee spends his time on leave:
- in Luxembourg: he must inform his employer by producing a medical certificate within 3 days;
- abroad: he must take all necessary steps to ensure that the certificate reaches the employer as soon as possible.
