The following is regarded as employment of a seasonal nature:
- the performance of work linked to harvesting or grape picking;
- the performance of work linked to the packing of harvested or picked products;
- the performance of work as supervisors and youth leaders at leisure activities and holiday camps;
- the performance of work as travel guides and tourist tour guides;
- the performance of work for the supervision and maintenance of beaches, open-air swimming pools and campsites;
- the performance of work in retail outlets, hotels and restaurants which are open for only part of the year;
- the performance of work in retail outlets, hotels and restaurants whose activity expands regularly and foreseeably on a seasonal basis;
- the performance of work in aviation and passenger transport undertakings whose business increases regularly and foreseeably on a seasonal basis.
Seasonal contracts may also be entered into for employees brought onto Luxembourg territory under the cover of the legally required work permits, in accordance with the provisions governing the employment of foreign workers, when they take up their first job with an employer in the construction and public works sectors, hotel industry, catering, agriculture, horticulture or viticulture.
