D15a40 - What are the conditions for the accommodation of a worker working away from his habitual workplace?

Dwellings and rooms rented out or made available for residential purposes by the employer to workers away from their usual place of work must comply with:

  1. criteria of cleanliness and hygiene, comprising requirements relating to area, humidity, ventilation, toxicity of walls and of the air and the general health of the persons accommodated in a dwelling or a room;
  2. safety criteria, including requirements relating to access, stability, electricity, heating, gas and fire prevention in a dwelling or a room;
  3. habitability criteria, comprising requirements relating to the height of the rooms in a dwelling or of a room and requirements concerning the basic equipment which must be available in a dwelling or a room.

Details regarding the aforementioned criteria are set out in the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 20 December 2019 determining the minimum criteria of cleanliness, hygiene, safety and habitability to be met by dwellings and rooms rented out or made available for residential purposes.
